Recently, Typhoon Nepartak battered southeast China, including the worst-hit Minqing County, Fuzhou in Fujian. The recent local news said that the death toll has risen to 60 until last Thursday.
Led by Rev. Chen Lifu, the senior pastor, the staff from Huaxiang (Flower Lane) Church visited the affected believers in the disaster areas and donated 100,000 yuan to them.
A preacher of the megachurch tells CCD that fortunately, the water hasn't reached Minqing Church thanks to its location up on the mountain.
However, the believers' house at the foot of the mountain have been flooded and a number of members cannot be reached due to poor communication and the inaccessible mud road to the county.
Minqing Church is also working to provide disaster relief and help the local believers recover from the ordeal.
On July 14, Huaxiang Church published a prayer request that appeals to the followers to pray for the severe flood in Minqing, Yongtai and Yangtze Valley and ask the Lord to grant faith and strength to the affected believers as well as guide them to reconstruct their homes.
