The first bus route from People's Hospital to Sheng'Ai Elderly Home was officially launched on 20 August in Nanping, Fujian Province.
Sheng'Ai Elderly Home is the second Christian elderly home in Nanping followed after Ren'Ai Elderly Home. It is situated near the former steel factory. As the occupancy rate of the elderly home increases, the bus route is planned to be launched to better serve the needs of the elderly and their family.
According to the report by Three Self Church and Christian Council in Fujian, the leader of Christian association in Nanping, pastor from Meishan Church and the president of Sheng' Ai Care Home expressed their heartfelt thanks to support from various leaders as well as brothers and sisters in church. The launch of the bus route will definitely facilitate the growth of care work given to the elderly. On the launch day, pastor Sun was interviewed by the TV Station to share his experience in social and charity work to the public.
In total, over 120 people have attended the launch event including government officials, church leaders, members, staff from Sheng'Ai Elderly Home, beneficiaries of the elderly home and their family members.
Sheng'Ai Elderly Home occupies land area of 2268.46㎡, of which the building area is 4777.58㎡ and accommodating 306 beds. It mainly serves to provide daily care services to the elderly. On 7 April this year after 20 month of trial operation, the elderly home has finally attained its first non-profit operating license, thus making its breakthrough in church's involvement in social work.
