Hainan's newest church located in Haikou City - Mount of Olives Church - has officially been dedicated on September 16 with over 400 pastoral staff and church representatives in attendance for its dedication ceremony.

Li Zhengxiang, the chairman of the provincial CCC&TSPM, compared the church to a "mustard seed" because it had a similar growth with that of the church. The church's history spans for sixteen years with the Sunday attendance of exceeding 400. The seed buried underneath the ground took root and sprouted, eventually growing into a tree where the birds can perch in its branches. He hopes that the church can be a golden lampstand where more souls can be saved and hear the Gospel to bless the place it stands.

Elder Na Fengchun of the church said that it started from seven brothers in 2000 and has grew to reach several hundred members in the following years. He shared that the church has over thirty teams which continues to increase.

In 2011, it purchased the current gathering place which covers 576 square meters. There were only 50 believers when it moved to the new place of worship and the number of the congregation slowly grew to more than 100. However, it remained constant in a long time.

In the next years, the believers have kept prayer and tried to decorate the new temple. A large percentage of believers have taken part in the decoration. "Only when the brothers and sisters are together shoulder to shoulder can we build the house of God, both the external project and the internal life." Says Elder Na.
