From Sep 22 to Oct 10, 2016, Xinhuajie Church of Inner Mongolia Ulanqab Jining District carried out "Showing God's Love and Serving the Community" themed charity event during the "Religious Charity Month." They contacted the local office and the community visited 10 poor families and brought them rice, flour, and oil worth 2,000 CNY ($300).
Among the poor families were seniors without family, five guarantees families (the aged, the infirm, old widows and orphans taken care of by the people's communes in five ways: food, clothing, medical care, housing and burial expenses), and the bed-ridden on minimum subsistence allowances, which gave the event a positive practical meaning. On Sep 28 with the active support of the principle of Jianguo Silu primary school, they brought 2,500 CNY ($375) worth of winter clothes and grants to seven poor students in the school. Teenagers are the future of our country and strong youths lead to a strong country. Xinhuajie Church cares about the physical and mental health of the teenagers and gives love to their healthy growth. The community leaders spoke highly of the help they extended to the poor students and the seniors without family.
Ulanqab is located in the center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has jurisdiction over 11 counties with a population of 24 million and covers an area of about 120 thousand square kilometers. Christianity was introduced to Ulanqab in the 1920s and began to take shape in Jining District before liberation.
From the 1930s till liberation, there were three Christian denominations in Jining: American "Baptist," British "Salvation Army" and the domestic "Church Meetings." During the Cultural Revolution, all gatherings were suspended and the services resumed after Reform and Opening in the 1980s. In 1985 the government chose the four-room house in Qiaodong Simalu as the church till now. In 1998 Jining Xindianlu Church was built, in 2007 Jining Xinhuajie Church was built, and in 2015 the main church of Xinhuajie Church was built. The church can hold 500 people and the floor space is around 2,400 square meters. Xinhuajie Church was voted "Advanced Group of the First Harmonious Church Establishment."
There are 2 elders, 2 teachers, 3 theological seminary college graduates, and 10 graduates from Inner Mongolia Bible Junior College in the church. In 2013 with the approval of Jining and Ulanqab Bureau of Religious Affairs, they set up two venues in Donghe Road and New District. Jining Xinhualu Church is where CCC&TSPM of Ulanqab is located and it has become the hub of the churches in Ulanqab and a platform for communication and carrying out the Christian work in the city. The church provides a location for the regular training of the clergy and preachers. It also became the national CCC&TSPM approved bookstore for the whole Ulanqab and neighboring cities for selling permitted books.
