"Christianity and Modern Education of China" International Seminar to Be Held in Shanghai University

The international academic seminar, "Christianity and Modern Education of China", will be held in Shanghai University on October 28 to 30. Discussions will be conducted concerning Christianity's influence on modern education in China, Christian church universities, Christianity and modernization of Chinese education, and Christianity and education ideologies in modern China.

The conference will be co-hosted by Christianity and China Research Center, Research for Christianity in China and Center for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society, Shanghai University.

Shanghai University's study center of religion and Chinese society says that Christianity played an essential role in influencing modern education in China. Christianity in China not only established educational institutions like universities, but also deeply affected the educational system, ideology and concepts in modern China for its participation in the modernization of Chinese education.
