"Put down your cell-phones and focus on the Word of God," the launching ceremony of Tianjin Gangweilu Christian Church for transcribing Bible by hand was hosted on Jan 10, 2017.
Gangweilu Church invited Christians of different ages to join the Bible copying activity. "Many Christians spend more time on their phones than being intimate with God." Through this activity, the church hopes to make Christians with phone addiction put down the phones and leave themselves time for devotion. Be close to God with a pure heart and focus on His precious Word.
According to Gangweilu Church, they invited 1,189 believers of different ages to copy the 1,189 chapters in the Old and New Testaments in regular script (Chinese calligraphy style). Each person wrote a chapter as part of a collection to commemorate this activity.
