On August 13, 2017, Urumqi Jiujiawan Christian Gathering moved to its church building that was under reconstruction for 26 months. It held the first communion service in the new facility with by a crowded congregation.
Located in Haotai Community, Xihuan Road, Gaoxin District, the church was established shortly after the reform and opening up and is the first church to be constructed three times in the city.
Jianghe Journal, the official internal reference publication for Christians in Xinjiang, said that the construction had difficulties and twists and turns, but the believers experienced God making a way by providing a construction team from the Urumqi CCC&TSPM, the involvement of the staff from Mingde Church, and donations from several churches.
