Established shortly after the Reform and Opening, Jiujiawan Church is located in Haotai Community of Urumqi, Xinjiang Province. It's the first church that has been constructed twice in the city.
On Oct 8, a cross has stood on the top of its new church building. Jianghe Journal, the official publication internal reference of Christians in Xinjiang, reports that the former church suffered a loss of water and power for a property developer wanted to build a largely residential area nearby. After processing some documents, the church was agreed to reconstruct a new building on the same site.
Currently, the new building lacks a heating system or power, thus the congregation has to gather in a rented house.
