In the afternoon of Sep. 18, 2017, Teacher Jin Suo of Wuxi Christian Church donated 3,000 yuan ($452) for Shen Xuedong, who is from Binhai and currently hospitalized in the burn unit ICU of local Hospital.
80% of Shen's body was burnt due to a gas leak explosion at his home at the end of August. He was sent to Wuxi No.3 Hospital overnight after the incident.
Shen and his wife are ordinary workers in Binhai; however, the ICU costs nearly $1,500 per day. This, without question, is too great a burden for their inadequate family.
In such desperate times, Shen's mother informed the church about their situation. After the church verified the condition, it immediately withdrew 3,000 yuan ($452) from the love fund to help.
Both his wife and mother were moved to tears after receiving the money. The wife said that though she almost couldn't bear it any longer after the tragedy and being away from home. She appreciated the care and help from the church. She felt the warmth of home.
During the meeting, it was learned that the family of the patient sleeps on the street at night in order to save some money. A believer then offered them a place to stay and volunteered to take care of their child.
The church spreads love to those in difficulties within its power. We're all willing to do our best to help people to fulfill Jesus' mission of love, so that everyone can feel love in every corner of society.
