On October 22, 2017, Shanghai All Saints Church held a special service for seniors above 80 to celebrate the incoming Chongyang Festival that falls on Oct. 28.

121 elderly believers, including 22 above 90 and 2 above 100, attended it according to the church's official WeChat account. A sermon titled "Crown of Splendor" was preached by Rev. Xu Huijun. "The Bible reminds that gray hair is a symbol of senility to some degree, but also a splendor. Since God gives men longevity, honoring the elderly somehow shows awe of God who blesses people with longer life. God keeps eyes on those who depend on God, whether young or old, to the end. The glory of life is shown in righteousness."The sermon said.

Children from the Sunday school pinned red flowers on the elders and sang two hymns for them.
