It is a tradition for a church in China's northeastern Jilin province to hold a four-day retreat during the Chinese New Year festival.
Four speakers preached sermons in Dongfeng Church in Liaoyuan, from February 18 to 21, 2018.
Preacher Zhang Huan shared new year's resolution, encouraging the congregation to have positive dreams and keep them under any circumstances. Zhang urged the listeners to put their hope in God and believe His promises. Meanwhile, build a life of love and start small.
Teacher Lin Yingxun talked about how to master emotions. The approaches included prayer, learning to put yourself in another's shoes, reverse thinking, and changing bad means of expression.
We should forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead, said Rev. Sun Rui. The pastor exhorted attendants to forget the past failures, resentment, and others' debts. Continue the faith journey ahead with hope and fervency.
Rev. Kou Youguo interpreted the conditions of today's church through the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, expecting the church to be a church of prayer where the God could dwell. Melt troubles and hatred with love and forgiveness and call for peace in China and the rest of the world with righteousness and peace.
