On July 15, 2018, a Christian nursing home held the completion ceremony of its expansion project in Harbin, Heilongjiang.
Fu Qiuying, the president of Fudejing Nursing Home, made personal donations to improve its facilities. She said that she would inherit and spread the home's tradition of serving Christ and elderly people.
Now the home can accommodate over 70 people.
In 2012, the state administration for religious affairs issued an opinion on encouraging and regulating the religious community in charitable and philanthropic activities. The document noted that the government would give a priority to supporting religious circles in conducting non-commercial activities in the domain of providing for the aged.
