Beginning February 11, 2019, the Baotou China Christian Council (CCC) & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) of Inner Mongolia started an eight-day preaching campaign in local rural churches.
Through this, pastors and elders came to know the spiritual needs of rural congregations in places where ministry is difficult.
Due to a lack of preachers, cults and heresies often multiply in rural areas and are a threat to social stability. This ministry effort was a good example of how a richer urban church can help a poorer rural church grow.
According to the official website of the Inner Mongolia CCC&TSPM, Baotou is a city with a multiethnic population of 2.7 million. 200,000 local Christians makes up the largest religious group. There are 117 churches, more than 400 preachers including about 70 seminary graduates, and over 500 volunteers. In the rural areas, almost every village has a church and every alley has some Christians.
