Since the outbreak of the epidemic, St. John's Church has suspended all onsite gatherings. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of brothers and sisters, the church also carried out liaison and pastoral care work online.
Recently, the church completed the registration of the baptism preparation class for the first half of the year, according to Suzhou CC&TSPM. It will systematically teach the basic truths of Christianity to the registered believers through WeChat every Wednesday and Thursday evening. Pastoral staff preside over online services, including several students who are studying in the Suzhou campus of Jiangsu Theological Seminary.
Lectures are conducted through audio recording and online discussions after class. In order to ensure the quality of learning, some co-workers from the orientation department are responsible to connect with people after class and the leadership of the class.
The church plans to baptize the qualified students at an appropriate time after these series of online courses are completed.
