Under the leadership of God and after following pandemic prevention measures, Chi Tao Church and Qingzhong Church in Nanchang reopened on July 19, 2020, after months of lockdown due to COVID-19.
The attendance in the two churches was limited to about 40% of the usual gatherings with persons seated one meter apart (signs showed people were to sit), according to Chi Tao Church.
A person in each church was in charge of reservations and registrations around the clock, according to the number of seats available. After successful booking, with the reservation card, those attending had their Jiangxi Chang Code (Nanchang Electronic Access Code) scanned and their temperature taken. If someone’s temperature was more than 37.3℃, they couldn’t enter the church. Masks needed to be worn at all times. In order to avoid cross infection, attendees couldn’t use the public Bibles and hymns books.
Pastor Yao Baoshan, the dean of Nanchang CC&TSPM and the senior pastor of Chi Tao Church, preached in the first Sunday service in the Chi Tao Church. Pastor He Anping, dean of Nanchang Christian Association and the senior pastor of Qingzhong Church, preached in the first Sunday service in Qingzhong Church. More than 700 persons attended services in the two churches.
