The Media Ministry of CCC&TSPM (China Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement) paid a visit to Nanjing Union Theological Seminary from April 22 to 23, celebrating the 26th World Book Day which falls on April 23.
During the activity themed "Read Good Books, Live Out Good Lives - World Book Day Trip in Nanjing Union Theological Seminary", CCC&TSPM presented Tianfeng to the seminary, exhibiting and selling Bibles and spiritual books published in recent years.
Rev. Chen Yilu, deputy president of the seminary, presided over the opening ceremony, giving a lecture on "reading, compiling, writing, selling", to directly point out the main theme of the event.
Tianfeng, a magazine of the Protestant Churches in China, is a recorder of the history of Christianity in China, with each issue recording footprints of the development of Christianity in the country. From its inception in 1945 to 1965, a total of 652 issues were published. And since its republication from 1980 to April 2021, it has published 496 issues. Tianfeng, a monthly publication issued at home and abroad, has always responded to current questions from a Christian standpoint, according to CCC&TSPM.
Rev. Shan Weixiang, deputy president of CCC and the chief editor of Tianfeng, presented the full set of photocopies of Tianfeng to the seminary on behalf of CCC&TSPM. Rev. Chen accepted the gifts on behalf of the seminary, concluding that it was a good learning material for the Sinicization of Christianity. As a collection of books in the Chinese Christian research center, he said the full set could provide material for masters and doctoral students to write their theses, as well as be an important learning material for the centenary of the founding of the party.
For years, CCC&TSPM have presented the magazines to 22 seminaries across the country every year.
