Staff from a Jilin church went to clean up the homes of two elderly and weak persons whom they had financially aided before.
Appointed by Senior Pastor Liu Xuesong, Chen Guang, director of the Social Service Department of Nanzhan Church in Dongfeng County, Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, paid a return visit to some of the elderly and weak persons to whom they had earlier on provided financial assistance.
They found that the homes of Li Xueyi and Ren Xianqing from Shuiju Village of Hengdaohe Town were dirty and messy due to their old age and poor health. After Director Chen reported to the church council, the leaders decided to organize co-workers to clean up their homes.
On April 17, 2021, Chen led a group of six staff from the Social Service Department to their home, bringing cleaning tools, rice, and plain flour. Sister Li from Hengdaohe Church also participated in the general cleaning, buying fruits for these two poor persons. Within more than three hours, they finished the cleaning, from inner to the outer room, from the corridor to the kitchen, from the glass to the ground.
Afterward, the female staff made dumplings with the plain flour and meat offered by Elder Li Hui.
The two poor men were nearly 70 years old, without wives, children, and income. They had no dependents but were guaranteed by the government. One of them had a disability on his leg, walking with crutches. They were not Christians, but the staff had cared for and helped them for a long time.
