"The mission God gave me 20 years ago to build a church is complete", 80-year-old Sister Kang said with excitement while looking at the brand-new meeting place.
The new temporary place for religious activities is located on the second floor of a two-story single building in Fuhong Homeland, Xinhua Community, Lanxi County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang, with a total of 400 square meters (0.096 acres). As the Lanxi County Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau granted them administrative permission on April 1, 2021, the temporary gathering site was allowed to open, with a scale of 200 people.
In 2001, the first year after Kang believed in Jesus, the Lanxi County CC&TSPM established a preparatory committee for church construction. She was one of them, with the seed of building a church sown in her heart at that time.
The seeds of this dream were also planted in the hearts of her son and daughter-in-law. They prayed to God in the third year of their faith, hoping to make money to buy a church. At the end of December 2020, they dedicated the building that they had purchased at a cost of 1.68 million yuan and was originally used for a fertilizer and bean company. It is the current meeting place.
The renovation started on February 19, 2021, with the original partition walls demolished and the facilities installed. The project was completed in only 40 days. On Easter Sunday, April 4, the church held the dedication ceremony together with Easter celebrations.
