On June 13, the day before the Dragon Boat Festival, the Bible study fellowship of Kunming Jida Church in Yunnan Province took the lead in launching the activities collectively titled "Welcome the Dragon Boat Festival, Wrap Zongzi and Send Blessings".
All getting up early, the fellowship members went to the vegetable market to buy ingredients. Among them were glutinous rice, rice dumpling leaves, dates, red beans, green beans, peanuts, and bacon. When they returned to the church, they went to their own work. Some sisters went to soak the glutinous rice, some brothers went to wash the rice dumpling leaves, and those who could not get involved were busy with other preparations.
Then the participants joined hands to wrap the dumplings. Under the guidance and assistance of skilled sisters, they were all eager to stretch the leaves, make a funnel shape, fill in the glutinous rice, and firmly press the ingredients. Then their hands flew around, sealing, tying, and forming.
From morning to evening, more than four hundred dumplings in various shapes, such as triangle, ox horn, and long strip, were freshly cooked.
During the process of making dumplings, the brothers talked to and poured out their hearts to each other. Some were discussing God's grace to them, others were talking about their family lives, and yet some were exchanging rice dumpling techniques and skills...
The most touching thing was that one aunt told the group that when she heard about the news of the dumpling wrapping activity for the church pastors and saw the active participation of brothers and sisters in this ministry, she was so excited that she did not sleep well all night and came early to the church to participate.
Afterward, they delivered the prepared dumplings to Trinity International Church, North Star Christian Church, and Century City Church in batches.
