Members of a Shanxi church helped a poor and disabled believer clean up and decorate his house, giving him clothes and food.
On October 26, more than a dozen members of Cheng District Church in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, came to assist a disabled male believer with the surname of Hou living alone in a village of Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, according to the church.
Removing the supplies from the car, they started to carry honeycomb briquettes, raw coal stoves, and then they connected electric wires, nailed advertising cloth to the ceiling, and put newspapers on the wall. Finally, they cleaned and laid his kang bed (a heatable brick bed that is popular in northern China).
Hou now lives in a long-abandoned earthen house, as he worked outside for many years and his own house had already collapsed. The hut has nothing but a kang bed, with mounds everywhere.
Through their efforts in the afternoon, the dark and damp house changed. In the end, they put the donated clothes, quilts, food, and pots in order, gaining praise from the neighbors.
