A church in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province with a history of 30 years marked the fifth anniversary of its completion of the main building.
After the choir sang hymns and the congregation recited the "Apostles' Creed" on July 9, Elder Yi Lianmei of Shuguang Church in Baoji City preached a sermon, sharing that the church began with five persons gathering 30 years ago and the process of building the main buildings three times. She urged believers to give thanks to God through their practical actions and seek God’s will to guide their spiritual lives.
After the sermon, the theatrical performances, beginning with hymns from the senior choir, included thirteen programs from the choir and believers of five pastoral areas. Among them, the dance with recitation titled "We Walked This Way" told the 30-year journey of the church.
The melodrama named "Home of Love" by the elderly choir showed the true stories of the church members fighting against the epidemic in March this year. During lockdown, which lasted over a month, two male believers delivered vegetables purchased by the church to 120 Christians locked at home for seven days.
