A church in China’s southeastern coastal Guangdong Province held joint sacred music training courses.
The Sacred Music Committee of Tianhe Church in Guangzhou held its annual sacred music training courses on August 13 and 20, attended by its 130 members, members of two choirs of Zengcheng Church and one choir of Shahe Church, as these three churches carried out joint ministries, according to Tianhe Church.
A full-time church music teacher surnamed Zhang from Guangdong Union Theological Seminary gave a lecture themed "Song of Eternity", sharing three pieces of equipment including spiritual life, awareness of their duties, and music practice. Combined with the hymn titled "The Way of Life", Zhang gave comments and guidance to each voice part one by one, pronunciation of the lyrics, the grasp of the rhythm, the emotional regulation, and the cooperation between the conductor and the choir members. Another teacher surnamed Liu trained believers in vocal music to improve their singing level.
Built in 1949, Tianhe Church can accommodate 3,000 people at a time to worship God.
