Shaanxi Bible College hosted an academic forum entitled “The Grassland Silk Road and Chinese Silk”.
Professor Li Jiajun, editor-in-chief of the magazine Human Cultural Heritage Protection, was invited to speak in this Chang’an Forum on September 14, talking about the ancient history of silk production, exquisite workmanship, and rich cultural connotations of silk. He shared the perspectives of the history of Chinese silk, the fusion and influence of national cultures, the spectacular silk clothing culture of national characteristics, and the relationship between silk and the revitalization of the Chinese nation, according to CCC&TSPM.
“The lecture enabled teachers and students to understand the vital role 'The Grassland Silk Road' played in the development of Chinese civilization, and how essential the silk culture has been to mankind’s material civilization as well as to the study of economic and cultural development of the Chinese and Western nations," the school said.
