Upon the arrival of the annual "Religion Charity Week" which falls in mid-September and the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival in September 2022, three CC&TSPMs in Shanxi Province of North China carried out care activities for disadvantaged groups.
On September 9 when Tencent’s 99 Giving Day campaign fell, Taiyuan Christian Church sent fruit and milk to eight families in need in the Haixi community where it was stationed, said Shanxi CC&TSPM.
On September 13, leaders of Qinshui County CC&TSPM came to Shili township to visit two less fortunate families with children and sent them rice, flour, cooking oil, and comforting money.
In one of these families, the child is nine years old, his father has undergone heart surgery, his mother suffers from mental illness, his grandmother has breast cancer, and his grandfather is immobile because of waist disc pain. The family is only supported by his father doing some light work. In the other family, the child is seven years old, and the parents have mental problems, leading a very simple life.
The CC&TSPM of Yangcheng County of Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, appealed for donations dedicated to vulnerable groups. Believers donated more than RMB 9,000.
On September 17, the organizations brought the charity money to 13 households in five towns in Yangcheng, giving RMB 500, a bag of rice, and a bucket of cooking oil for each family. Among them, some suffer from leukemia, some have lost their wives and children, some are sick themselves, and some are in wheelchairs and cannot take care of themselves.
