A church in South China’s Guangdong Province held a baroque concert to celebrate the 38th anniversary of its reopening, while another one is to host a music retreat.
Bao'an Church in Shenzhen announced the arrangement on April 21 for a two-day sacred music retreat during the May Day holiday. On May 1, the choir will receive a training course on "Be Shepherded by God to Nurture the Flock," while believers will receive a training course on "How to Listen to God to Be Nurtured" on May 2.
Bao’an District CC&TSPM hosted this retreat with the assistance of Bao'an Church, as said. Dr. Angela Tam, retired director of the Sacred Music Department of the Alliance Bible Seminary and current president and chairman of the Hong Kong Church Music Association, was invited to give lessons.
Recently, the Church of Our Savior in Guangzhou, which resumed gathering in 1985, celebrated the 38th anniversary of its reopening.
