A memorial service was held by a church in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China to honor its founder.
The service was conducted on May 1 by the Gospel Church in Shangsi County, Fangchenggang City, for Rev. Ling Daiming and presided over by Huang Xiang, the leader of the church.
All members of the church joined in singing the hymn "You Are So Great," and Rev. Li Ruheng delivered a memorial prayer.
Rev. Zhang Yezhong, president of the Guangxi Christian Council, recollected his interactions with Pastor Ling and offered a prayer of benediction.
An article titled "The 94-Y-O Pastor Ling Daiming" was previously published in January 2021, highlighting the pastor's life. The article mentioned that inspired by the Holy Spirit, at the end of 1996, Ling, who served in Taiwan, returned to his hometown of Shangsi County, where his sister, Ling Ruqing, lived alone. He began preaching the gospel in his sister's home using the book Fundamentals. To establish a church for believers, Ling oversaw the construction site from 2004 to 2005.
Despite having a wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in Taiwan, he chose to return to his hometown in his later years to serve his community.
Pastor Ling peacefully passed away on December 26, 2022, shortly after Christmas, and found eternal rest in the arms of the Lord.
