CCC&TSPM hosted a book talk on Father’s Day.

CCC&TSPM reported that its bookstore, “Sharing Grace Through Reading,” organized a book talk on June 18. Rev. Hao Zhiqiang, general director of the YMCA of China and editor-in-chief of CCC&TSPM's flagship magazine Tianfeng, was invited to share and discuss the topic “What Is Required of Us as Fathers Today” with readers on-site.

During the event, Rev. Hao used Lu Xun (an influential writer )'s 1919 quote "To preserve life, to prolong this life, and to develop this life" to explain the role of a father. Based on Deuteronomy 6:4–9, Hao stated that the fathers serve as listeners who needed to know and love God first, speakers who should teach diligently, and doers who should keep and act on what God says. He also shared real-life stories of father and son, paying tribute to all fathers who run for their children on the track of life.

During the question-and-answer session, readers inquired about children’s education and growth, with Rev. Hao sharing his own personal experience and perspectives as a father.

Apart from the pastor’s guidance, a fun Bible quiz session was organized for readers to test their engagement with devotional books published by CCC&TSPM.

Chen Hongli, head of the publication group of the Media Ministry of CCC&TSPM, said that book talk events would be hosted regularly. Each session would feature a pastor who would lead readers in reading and discussing various topics, such as scripture interpretation, family, education, the workplace, music, and service. These events aim to satisfy readers’ desire to read and communicate with prominent pastors.
