On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, churches in Jiangsu, Eastern China, organized activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Shishan Church held the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival worship service with the theme "The Moon Viewed at Home Is More Bright”. The church’s culture and arts department also organized a mooncake-making activity to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival from September 23rd to 24th.
Based on Genesis 28:1–5 and 10–22, Rev. Liu Zhiguo shared a sermon titled “Jacob’s Adventure: Night Dream of Ladder”. He encouraged the congregation to experience God’s grace and respond to God’s love in the difficult journey of life. The choir, the joy dance team, and the praise team expressed their praise and thanksgiving to the Creator with instrumental ensembles, poetry recitations, piano solos, and dances, respectively, during the worship.
St. John’s Church held a worship service on the theme of “Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, Love Your Neighbor”. After that, the church designed a fun ringtoss and mooncake-making activity on September 24th.
During the worship, Ms. Sheng Enci from St. John’s Church elaborated on the meaning of “family” with the title “Born out of Love, Live for Love”. She exhorted us to love not only God but also our neighbors.
Suzhou Hushuguan Church held a Sunday service to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with about 320 participants on September 24. The praise team led the worship and praise before and after the sermon.
