A church in South China’s Guangdong Province is about to celebrate the Lunar New Year through artistic activities and performances.
On January 8, Zion Church in Guangzhou announced the planning of its first Chinese New Year-themed event.
Reportedly, the senior fellowship with believers over 50 years old took the lead in organizing an artful and charitable event ahead of the Chinese New Year. Through this event, they intend not only to bring joy to Christians but also to provide insights into the focal charitable works of 2024, engaging individuals in varied ways.
The activities include calligraphy for Spring Festival couplets, quick portrait sketching, blessings from pastors, premium baking, handcrafted special drinks, handmade accessories, gospel-themed animation and creativity, and more. There will also be performances on stage, including a saxophone band, a Cheongsam fashion show, gospel Cantonese opera, poetry, and dance. The event takes place on January 21, divided into two sessions.
Located at No. 392, Renmin Zhong Road, Jiawan District, Guangzhou, Zion Church was completed in 1936 with Chinese characteristics, with over 1,800 people worshipping on Sunday.
