Shandong, Jiangsu Theological Seminaries Usher in Spring Semester

Shandong Theological Seminary and the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary (NJUTS) in Jiangsu held the opening ceremonies for the Spring Semester 2024.

According to the provincial CC&TSPM, Shandong Theological Seminary kicked off the Spring Term 2024 with an opening service on February 27.

Rev. Gao Ming, president of the Shandong Christian Council (CC), preached on the theme “Heart and Fruit,” citing Proverbs 4:23. He encouraged the present faculty and students to guard their hearts and bear the fruits of the Spirit to glorify God as well as benefit the people.

At the school auditorium with the entire faculty and students on February 28, Rev. Huang Jinbin, head of the student affairs office, led prayers for the students' study and life as well as the college's ministries and arrangements in the new semester, following the flag-raising ceremony, said the seminary.

Rev. Chen Yilu, the executive vice president of the NJUTS, delivered a sermon titled "It Is Good for Us to Be Here," drawing from Matthew 17:1–13. He urged students to approach their return to school and daily life with gratitude and appreciation. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of equipping themselves, prioritizing the church, properly understanding Christ's salvation, translating theological knowledge into a deeper understanding of God, and improving their service to the Chinese church.
