Churches in China celebrated International Women's Day (IWD), inspiring women to live out their faith and pray for world peace and economic development.
On March 3, Sunday, two Guangzhou churches in Guangdong hosted themed worship services for IWD, urging Christian ladies to be humble, gentle, and patient and bear with one another in love, said Guangzhou CC&TSPM. At the same time, prayers were offered for world peace, the country, the ecological environment, and the development of Guangzhou churches.
On March 8, a group of 35 sisters in Christ from Pinghu Church in Shenzhen went to the countryside for a gathering. They shared transformations after believing in Jesus and the grace they received, and they engaged in mutual prayer in pairs. People who had not yet accepted Jesus were invited to sing and dance together.
At Chongyi Church in Zhejiang, on March 6, 14 ladies from Hangzhou Islamic Association celebrated IWD with church staff workers, reported Hangzhou CC&TSPM. They discussed the current situation of churches and mosques, exchanging ideas on women's ministries. After the discussion, these ladies were invited to participate in the Easter celebration in the church.
Hubei TSPM reported that on March 5, Wuhan YMCA held a forum, urging women to volunteer to contribute their efforts to caring for left-behind children in 2024. General Secretary Sun Xiaobing encouraged them to establish a positive family environment in their homes and provide assistance to vulnerable groups.
Dayang Church in Zezhou County, Jincheng, Shanxi, conducted the 2024 World Day of Prayer (WDP) and IWD celebration on March 8, said Jincheng TSPM. Pastor Han Nijuan shared a sermon titled "Esther, a Woman Worth Imitating." After praying for world peace, participants were engaged in outdoor team-building games.
Pingnan County Christian Council reported that on March 9, Rev. Zhang Jinying, executive vice president of Pingnan CC in Ningde, Fujian, delivered a sermon titled "Unity, Harmony, and Peace," following the theme of WDP for China.
