This year, May 12 marks the 111th Mother's Day, with special Sunday services rolled out at five churches for the occasion.
Beichen Church reported that it organized a special prayer and praise meeting, in which Rev. Jing Yicheng gave a sermon titled "Mothers Who Abide Faith, Hope, and Love." Senior Pastor Jing Jiuwei encouraged mothers present to avoid contradicting their parents and to heed their teachings, emphasizing that while material care was important, spiritual care and understanding were even more crucial.
Yunnan Trinity International Church conducted four Mother's Day worship services with themes of "A Mother's Love," "Women Are Weak, But Mothers Are Strong," "Godly Mothers," and "A Mother's Prayer," said the church. Pastors expounded on selfless and great maternal love, encouraging mothers to follow the Lord's teachings to be godly mothers and gain wisdom from God to teach their children.
At Xiaonan Church in Changchun, Jilin Province, after a sermon titled "Look at Your Mother," a Mother's Day praise meeting was held, with scarves presented to Christian mothers to protect them from wind and sand.
At the gathering place of Xingsheng Church in Tiexi Area, Anshan, Liaoning, deaf believers expressed their gratitude to their mothers and their praise to God through sign language, smiles, and hugs.
In her sermon at Shuguang Church in Baoji, Shaanxi, Wang Lingling delivered a sermon titled "Being Wise Parents," encouraging Christian women to raise their children according to the Lord's teachings, as bearing and raising children is a gift from God to women. Elder Yi Lianmei mentioned that the church always celebrates Mother's Day and Father's Day together, so gifts were given to brothers in Christ as well.
Zion Church in Guangzhou, Guangdong said three deaconesses shared their personal testimonies and faith journeys as representatives of mothers after the sermon. After the service, believers searched for old photographs, using Polaroid cameras to recreate scenes filled with smiles and embraces.
