Forty-six pastors under the age of 50 were trained in a recent training program in Jiangxi Province.

Convened in Nanchang, Jiangxi's capital, from February 26 to 27, the program was for young and middle-aged core church staff in the province, with the theme of "Adhering to Direction of Sinicization of Christianity," according to Jiangxi CC&TSPM.

Rev. Li Yungen, chairperson of the Jiangxi TSPM, said that the program was aimed at enhancing their capacities in the integration of theology, liturgy, customs, and church governance to promote the sinicization of Christianity.

The program included sessions in regard to theory learning and discussions.

A professor from Jiangxi Normal University gave a lecture on the investigation and reflections on the history and culture of Jiangxi Province, while Rev. Yu Jiang, vice president of the Shanghai Christian Council and director of the Hongkou District CC&TSPM shared on the characters of God's servants and church ministries.

During the group discussions, young and middle-aged pastoral workers spoke freely, sharing the challenges and uncertainties they face in ministry, as well as their suggestions and insights on church development.

After the training session, all participants also visited Jiangxi Bible School, which was founded in the fall of 1992 to provide for further education of pastoral staff in Jiangxi Province.
