Yancheng City CC&TSPM recently conducted a specialized training course focused on "Internet Religious Information Services and AI Application."
Held in Yancheng Church from April 28 to 29, this event attracted over 100 participants, including the staff of CC&TSPM in Yancheng City, leaders from local TSPM across various regions, "Dual Talents" professional members (who are proficient in both classic doctrines and Chinese traditional culture), full-time church staff, and recent seminary graduates, according to Yancheng Church.
The training featured Brother Xu Wei from Suzhou Grape Cloud Network Company, who delivered an insightful lecture titled "Deepseek and the Future Trends of Church Ministry." He examined both the potential applications and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence within the realms of spiritual pastoral care and church management. Additionally, his session on the "Practical Application of AI Technology in Pastoral Care and Administration" included case demonstrations that equipped attendees with essential skills such as AI-assisted sermon writing, graphic and text visualization design, and effective management of church affairs data. This guidance aims to enhance the efficiency and empowerment of church ministries.
Participants, particularly young leaders, expressed that AI technology has introduced innovative concepts and tools for spiritual pastoral care and sermon preparation. Grassroots church leaders emphasized the importance of data security and compliance, highlighting the need for future endeavors to harmonize technological innovation with risk management.
Pastor Chen Dehong, chairman of Yancheng TSPM, emphasized the necessity for the Christian community to adapt to the rapid developments in the internet and AI landscape. He urged the enhancement of digital pastoral care and management capabilities, advocated for lawful internet religious information services, and encouraged reform and innovation within church ministries to meet contemporary challenges.
During the training, Director Li Haifeng from the Yancheng Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs provided further insights, elucidating the "Measures for Internet Religious Information Services." He educated trainees about network information security standards, early warning, and response strategies for online public opinion, as well as methods for positive guidance, all contextualized with relevant case studies from the religious sector.
