Hebrews 9:14: "How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!" Amen!

In Lvhua Street Church in Anshan, there are countless brothers and sisters who have suffered from various diseases, even terminal illnesses, but they have still trusted in God, willing to dedicate themselves to serve Him. Sister Su Guifang and Shi Ping of Christian Church in Lihua Street, Anshan, Liaoning, are two of these persons.

Sister Su Guifang: Great passion after four surgeries in her old age

(Sister Su Guifang)

The 74-year-old sister Su Guifang has been blessed by God with various gifts. She has been both the head of a missionary group and a member of the worship team.

In the missionary group, she organized the calligraphy, painting, photography, poetry, articles and other ministries with her co-workers. In the worship team, she is a versatile musician who can play the piano, drum, flute, and harmonica.

Despite suffering from various diseases and having four surgeries, she is a very optimistic person.

After she was widowed, in order not to burden her children, she lived alone. But she was joyful, for she turned to Jesus in her grief, was chosen by God, and became a believer.

She has lived a full life. She gets up at four or five o'clock in the morning to pray, read four chapters of Bible, copies the sentences, and worships God. Before the pandemic, she had to go back and forth for more than two hours a day to organize her co-workers with her picture and writing ministry, and participate in worship preparation. After meetings were suspended, she insisted on daily reading, praying, worshiping, communicating, and writing. She cares about the young and often encourages them through the Internet when they encounter troubles.

Sister Shi Ping: Committed to God even after suffering from a serious illness

Shi Ping was baptized in 2004. She is able to sing, dance, play musical instruments, and choreograph music to accompany the poems of Nguyen, Yangqin, and Sigu. She is also good at writing and often helps people. Even when she was seriously ill, she preached the gospel and visited sick co-workers.

After having surgery and being on dailysis, in 2019 she faced the complications of mid-state lung cancer.  While she was hospitalized and enduring the pain of her disease, she prayed to God every day. In her words, she was dedicated to the Lord, and her trust was completely in the Lord. A recent evaluation showed that her health is now back to normal following surgery.

After being discharged from the hospital, and even while at her daughter's house in Zhuhai, she insisted on being part of  Sunday worship, daily Bible reading, prayer, and spiritual practice. She copies sentences from the Bible every day for about two hours and has filled five notebooks.
