A church leader in Shanghai, nearly 60 years old, was involved in the epidemic containment efforts in many ways.

In order to stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in early March, Elder Xu Yinbao, director of Minhang District TSPM, organized online meetings for the members of the district CC&TSPM. She requested that all Christian venues implement the measures of "double suspension" and "keeping persons staying at home". On the official WeChat account, she also issued a proposal to believers in the region that they should follow personal protection measures and pray for safety, according to Shanghai CC&TSPM.

On March 23, on behalf of Xinzhuang Jesus Church, Elder Xu donated nearly 10,000 yuan worth of anti-epidemic materials to the community front-line workers. She also bought fruit out of her own pocket for the village committee members. Under the initiative, each Christian venue made donations to the local town committee, with the cumulative donations reaching nearly 90,000 yuan up to now.

In addition, responding to the call of the female elder, up to now, more than 100 believers have taken part in volunteer work, becoming "order maintainers" for nucleic acid testing, "propagandists" to remind residents to stay home, or "delivery men" helping the masses deliver daily necessities.
