Recently, an ordination ceremony, as well as an awards ceremony for COVID-19 fighters was held in central China's Anhui Province.

Yaohai District Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM)  in Hefei City on Nov. 27 held a recognition ceremony entitled "Be Light and Salt to Fight the Epidemic", honoring 40 Christian volunteers who had participated in community epidemic prevention and control during 2022 and were awarded honorary certificates and souvenirs, according to CCC&TSPM.

Relevant officials of the local ethnic and religious affairs bureau attended the ceremony to recognize the volunteers' contributions and congratulated them who were honored.

Three days later, Anhui Provincial CC&TSPM held an ordination ceremony in 2022 in Hefei, the provincial capital, appointing 14 pastors and 28 elders.

After the ordination, Rev. Xue Lianxi, president of Anhui Christian Council (CC), exhorted the newly ordained persons to properly understand the priesthood which was a grace but also a responsibility, an example but also a challenge, citing Luke 12:42-48.

Rev. Chen Tianyuan, chairman of Anhui TSPM, presented stoles to the newly ordained clergy with bibles.

The event was not open to the public because the epidemic throughout the country has still not ended.
