"Game of Thrones" is still on its secretive streak for the production of Season 7 like how HBO did it in the previous seasons. Coming off a critically acclaimed Season 6 which saw Daenerys Targaryen finally sailing to Westeros from Mereen after a few years of building an army, "Game of Thrones" hopes to replicate its success next year when it airs again.
Here are some of the things we do know about "Game of Thrones" Season 7:
Filming is scheduled much later in the year.
"Game of Thrones" producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff, in an interview on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, confirmed that production of the new season is delayed to September 2016. This is partly because a big portion of filming will be done during winter due to Jon Snow's ascent to the throne of the North in the end of last season. This could mean that the show will also start airing later than its usual April premiere.
Previous "Game of Thrones" seasons started their production in the sunnier months like June or July and end in December.
The last two seasons will have less than 10 episodes each.
Producers have confirmed that there will be 13 episodes left in the two remaining seasons which means it could have a 6:7 or 7:6 ratio.
Casting for the next "Game of Thrones" season is ongoing.
A casting notice for two young cast members, Watchers On The Wall reported. One is for a 16-year old Northern girl while the other is a 10-year old Northern boy. Their scenes will be shot in September or October.
"Game of Thrones" is nominated for 23 Emmy Awards.
"Game of Thrones" is once again the most-nominated show in this year's Emmy Awards though it did fell short of its previous record of 24 from last year. It had acting nominations for stars Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Peter Dinklage and Maisie Williams.
