Hugo Awards 2017 has released the list of nominees online to celebrate the year's best science fiction and fantasy works. Luckily, a Chinese writer was included in the list.
Liu Cixin who wrote the "Death's End," and who was the first Asian writer to win the said award was nominated again for the novel.
"Death's End" is part of Cixin's novel series "The Three-Body Problem." The novel has been recognized and gained attention from former United States President Barack Obama and the famous "Game of Thrones" novel book "A Song of Ice and Fire," George R.R. Martin.
The Chinese writer was reportedly assisted by the American science-fiction translator Ken Liu for "Death's End."
The nomination and recognition of Cixin will give way to other Chinese writers in science fiction and fantasy series.
The winners of Hugo Awards 2017 will be announced on August 11 at the Hugo Awards Ceremony in Finland.
