South Korean actor Lee Jong Suk has been rumored to be enlisting in military soon after he decided not to appear in the upcoming movie titled "Witch" (literal translation).
On July 21, an alleged source from Lee Jong Suk's agency, YG Entertainment revealed that he has been running without pause so he decided to take a short break for now and decided to refuse the movie offer.
The upcoming movie, where Lee Jong Suk was supposed to star, tells a story of a female high school student who was trained to become a murder weapon. However, the student experiences identity crisis while she caught up in her crimes.
However, the move of Lee Jong Suk has been rumored by several local media and the fans. According to Soompi, some fans were worried as this may be happened because Lee Jong Suk has received a draft notice for his military service.
"It's true that Lee Jong Suk recently received his draft notice. However, he has not yet decided when his exact enlistment date will be," YG Entertainment said about the issue.
But, the agency added that Lee Jong Suk's decision to refuse the movie is purely because of his wish to take a break from his busy schedule.
"Lee Jong Suk's decision to not appear in 'The Witch' is a completely separate issue from him receiving his draft notice. The choice to turn down the movie was made to respect the actor's wishes to take a break," the agency added.
Lee Jong Suk is set to return on the movie screen with his latest movie, "V.I.P" and is set to return with a new romance drama with Bae Suzy for "While You Were Sleeping," which tells the story of a woman who can see unfortunate events in her dreams.
