The Chinese version of the Steward Leader, written by R. Scott Rodin, was recently published.
R. Scott Rodin is an evangelical author with decades of experience in different Christian ministries and organizations. A former seminary president, board chair of ChinaSource and the Evangelical Environmental Network, he has been devoted to helping Christians build biblical strategic plans for ministries, form boards, and raise funds for important events. He is also a senior member of the Association of Biblical Higher Education. Dr. Rodin holds Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Systematic Theology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. His twelve books include the 50-day Journey to Freedom, Christ Centered Generosity, the Seven Deadly Sins of Christian Fundraising, and Stewards in the Kingdom.
The Christian leadership book was translated by Wang Liwei and Wu Zuhong and released by the Religion and Culture Press last May.
One of the highlights of the book is Dr. Rodin's radical insight based on Jesus in the Bible and his own decades' leadership experience. The key for Christians to imitate leadership lies in Philippians 2:7 that claims "but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant."(KJV) He points out that the core of devout leadership is leadership without reputation.
The book also features a comparison of several leadership patterns -- the Great Man Theory, transactional leadership, transformational leadership, and servant leadership, which has been popular in the Christian community in recent years. It also contrasts these patterns with steward leadership, stating the leadership myths Christians should walk out of.
