An exhibition of Zhou Dongshen's engravings was released at the 20th West Lake Art Fair, a national fair founded in 1998, on Oct. 26, 2017. Many of his works with Christian themes were put on display.

The exhibit consisted of four series of engravings: Chinese literature, foreign literature, pleasure in life, and Bible stories.

Zhou, a devout Christian, won the Lu Xun Printmaking Prize, China's highest award for prints. As the Chinese artist winning the most gold medals in prints, he won 26 international and domestic gold awards. His two works titled "The Martyrdom of Steven" and "Mournful David" won special awards in the International Ex-libris Exhibition 2016 held in Moscow.

Born in 1938, Zhou graduated from the department of printmaking of the China Academy of Art in 1963. His more than 200 prints cover many fields.

His works are included in sixteen of the world's top museums and art galleries, including the British Museum, the Muban Foundation, the Boston Public Library, the State Russian Museum, and Florence Museum.
