C. JoyBell C., an author of poetry and literature for source of inspiration and transformation once said "No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!" It is always a good quote to remember New Year. But there are other statements that came from a very reliable source that provides us guidance not just during New Year but every day in our lives. That is the Bible and its verses.

The Bible offers us verses to start off the New Year.

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1

According to the Book of Ecclesiastes, there is a time for everything. Do not worry if you think you haven't yet completed or achieve your goals last year. As per the bible, there is always that perfect time.

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."  Isaiah 43:18-19

Prophet Isaiah encourages us to stop dwelling in the past. Yes, your past experiences define you and even provides you lesson learned but it is not healthy to stay in that place. You have to move on. New Year is a great way to start and be reminded of this wonderful verse.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

This verse is simply giving us assurance and hope that every plans we have may not be right for us so our Lord God has more to offer to us. His plans are way better than what we have planned all along. We just have to follow His path and continue to ask His guidance. Learn to trust only in Him. And He leads us into His better plans.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."  Proverbs 3:5-6

This bible verse is relevant to the previous verse from Jeremiah. Trust Him, honor Him and all your plans will be guided.

During this New Year, always remember this verse from Deuteronomy 23:5, "A blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you."
