The "Myeong Dan Gong Gae 2016" rankings from tVN's "The List" finally reveals which actor or actress ranked number 1 as the most popular Hallyu star in China today.
This rank goes to actor Kim Soo Hyun who became famous with the hit drama "My Love from Another Star" where he plays the alien Do Min Joon. The drama became an instant hit in China as the recorded views per episode reached to up to 20 billion hits.
According to the report, the actor's popularity is immense in China as scalped ticket prices for one of his meet and greets in China amounted to 250 million won or $320,000 alone. At least 600 fans followed him around throughout these fan meetings, some even receiving warnings from the actor's bodyguards. It is also reported that the actor earned 20 million won or $18,000 per commercial he did for China. So far, this number has already reached to 35 different advertisements.
After Kim Soo Hyun came actress Park Shin Hye from the hit series "Doctors" and Girls' Generation YoonA. Lee Joon Gi came in at fourth place.
