On Thursday, a source reported that SBS is currently working on a special episode in light of one of their longest mainstays of the series "Running Man"'s departure.
According to the source, the staff and members of the series is working on a special episode for Gary now that he is leaving the show after 7 years.
In the statement, the source said; "All the members have been together since the first year, but now one is leaving. Rather than having inviting a guest who may not feel the event as strongly, it will be a time for just the members to be together. Since it is impossible to make a clean break with a long-time member like Gary, the missions for the final episode will be as messy and difficult as our feelings. Therefore, the episode is called 'The Messy Special.'"
Since he joined the show, Gary ran a total distance of 77,000 km in the series. In the special episode, Gary will be given a series of missions that has something to do with that total distance while his fellow cast members will sort out the surprise for Gary along the way.
The source also said that, "We cannot reveal exact details, but it was our first time seeing Gary cry like that."
