New Retail is considered trend in China right now. Before the November 11, Singles' day, a day when Chinese consumers spends the most in a year, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba expanded its reach through online and offline channels.
Here's four destinations in Shanghai that you must visit to see a glimpse of the China's ever fast-changing retail stores.
Fresh Food: Hema

Alibaba's first project for new retail, Hema integrates both online and offline shopping experience by combining three places: warehouse supermarket and dining place into one.
According to Alibaba, Hema is a startup incubated inside Alibaba for almost two years and just opened the first store in January 1 in Jinqiao, Shanghai. To purchase something, users must first download and install the Hema app.
Currently, there are 20 Hema stores in China: 13 in Shanghai, 3 in Beijing and one each in Hangzhou, Guiyang, Shenzhen and Ningbo.
Sporstwear: Suning unmanned store

The unmanned store displays four categories of products which include, sports IP products accounting for about 70 percent of all products on sale. To purchase and go in the store, users downloadd and install the Suning Finance app on their mobile.
Fashion Apparel: Smart Chothes Shop

Hangzhou fashion brand Aline de Rose uses a number of connected devices in its smart store. All these devices were equipped by Ontime, who makes smart mirrors and RFID solution for retailers. The store uses facial recognition technology to collect information about number of customers and allow them to adjust their supple and staff based on customer demographics and traffic.
