Happy Birthday Google Photos! Featuring First Birthday and 24 Billion Selfies

Even things and apps get to celebrate their birthday, too!

Today, Google Photos celebrates its first year. From last year, the app service has already created 1.6 billion collages, animations and movies from the snapshots of users. This statement is according to a post on the Google blog. Aside from that, there are already 2 trillion labels with over 24 billion of selfies categorized. According to the Google it is all thanks to cloud backup option that there are 200 million users who cleared 13.7 petabytes storage from their phones by using the app service.

Though the Google Photos does not yet offer unlimited storage for original quality, Nexus device owners can expect this very soon.

On the latest update for the App by Android Police revealed that Nexus users could get the benefits of the firmware updates which are having access to unlimited video and original-quality photo storage. Aside from that, the app could see inside adjustment for contrast and exposure.

"A year ago, we introduced Google Photos with one mission: To be a home for all your photos and videos, organized and brought to life, so that you can share and save what matters," written on Google Official Blog.

In celebration of this important event, Google gathered all the favorite updates and tips within the last year in their official blog.

Google says" Thanks for a wonderful first year-keep it up; all those selfies aren't going to take themselves!"
