Due to how widespread the Chinese diaspora has become, the Chinese New Year has become a big traditional holiday all over the globe in recent years. That is especially true in the United States, where there is an estimated 3.8 million Chinese Americans. Eight percent and twenty-two percent of this population are Catholics and Protestants respectively.
With the Chinese New Year coming this January 28, let us take a look at what resolutions Christian Chinese Americans can make for the upcoming year:
Keep a prayer journal
Not everyone knows what a prayer journal is but it is the best way to record your conversations with God. Think of it as a way for you to pour your heart out to God, a secret diary that only you and God can read.
Give a part of your earnings to Church
This does not go for everyone, of course, but if you are earning well and you have money to spare, you should not hesitate to donate to the Church. If you cannot donate, at least, be generous with your time and make sure to help out in other activities of the Church.
Replace one hour of TV or computer time with an hour of reading the Bible daily
Just like food, reading the Bible gives you energy. By doing it every day, you will find that you are more in tune with your relationship with God more than ever, therefore strengthening it.
Go to Church every Sunday
When God made the Earth, he made sure to rest on the seventh day. He especially designed the week so you can rest during Sunday. What better way to rest than as a family in Church?
