After becoming a huge success on Christian radio in the past few months, Lauren Daigle has been announced as the top female Christian artist of the year. Daigle, who hails from Lafayette, Louisiana, leads a growing number of female Christian musicians who experience some degree of crossover success.
Despite being relatively new in the business, Daigle has already amassed a massive Christian following. She has four top 10 hits in the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. In an interview with Billboard, she also talked about writing about her debut song "Light of the World" with producers Paul Mabury and Paul Duncan. "As the writing process progressed, I was thinking about the 400 years between the Old and New Testaments in the Bible, when God was silent for 400 years. There was stillness in the world, people were searching. I wonder how that longing was for people living then. To be honest, it kind of reminds me of today and the longing in people."
In related Lauren Daigle news, the "How Can It Be" singer just recently performed her latest song "Trust In You" in Good Morning America, Relevant Magazine reported. It became her first number one song in the US Christian singles chart and could very well land her another Grammy nomination next year.
