A large-scale conference was held in Indonesia to inspire Asian Christians to reach everyone on earth.
Initiated by Empowered 21, the worldwide relational network to mobilize churches and the more than 650 million Spirit-empowered Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by Pentecost 2033, the Everyone Asia 2024 conference opened in Sentul International Convention Center, Indonesia.
More than 11,000 participants from 46 countries on six continents attended the conference in person.
EveryoneAsia is a part of Empowered 21, a movement to trigger the involvement of young people worldwide to envision that “every person on earth will experience an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.” Since 2011, the movement has launched conferences in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
Dr. Wiliam Wilson, chairman of the Pentecostal World Fellowship, global chair of Empowered21, and president of Oral Roberts University, recalled last year’s Amsterdam gathering, where the Everyone initiative was launched to mobilize Spirit-empowered churches to reach everyone on earth by Pentecost 2033.
“As we talk about reaching everyone, Asia is key.” Dr. Wilson stated that around 60% of the global population, namely 4.7 billion people, live in Asia, where there are over 400 million Christians, which accounts for eight percent of the Asian population. “There is a great work to be do in this part of the world.”
As the world’s population exceeds eight billion, he received the revelation from the Holy Spirit that all we need to do is to reach every one at a time and the Spirit will do the rest. On the first Pentecost, ordinary men and women turned the world down with the power of Jesus, converting 3,000 people to Christianity.
“The Holy Spirit is always coming on the church to make us effective reaching those who don’t know Jesus. Now in the 21st century, God continues to pour out His Holy Spirit throughout the world and Asia is one of the centers of fresh outpourings of the Holy Spirit.”
He also shared his personal ministry, in which a prophecy was fulfilled. One month after he accepted Jesus as his savior at the age of 16, a young preacher prophesied to him that he would go over the world and preach the gospel to millions of people. Not knowing what to do, he answered the call to ministry several years later and 40 years ago, he made his first mission trip outside the United States, to Indonesia; until now, he has traveled to 98 nations. He exhorted Spirit-empowered believers not just to go for listening and speaking in tongues, but to try to give people the savior.
He announced that the three-day conference was going to release the power of prophecy, visions, and dreams. “He is going to anoint you, call you, empower you, and use you to reach one at a time and help us reach everyone for the glory of God.”
Tim Hill, general overseer for the Church of God, and Dr. Niko Njotorahardjo, founder and president of Gereja Bethel International churches, also spoke at the opening session.
More than 42 speakers from the United States, Indonesia, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Brazil, Switzerland, Ukraine, South Africa, and the Philippines gave speeches and lectures.
The conference consisted of four general sessions, four afternoon workshop sessions, and worship and praise, covering the topic of evangelism, church ministry and discipleship, the next generation, prayer, praise & worship as well as technology.
